I currently work as a weekend morning anchor and producer at WTVA 9 News, the NBC/ABC/Fox affiliate in Tupelo, MS, and voted 2023 News Station of the Year by Mississippi Association of Broadcasters.
With this position, I am in charge of producing and anchoring a two hour news program on Saturday and Sunday mornings, along with creating digital content for the station's website and social media. Beyond weekends, I often fill in for other anchors and producers on weekday mornings, midday, and evening newscasts. I have grown accustomed to working at any and all hours of the day.
I attended the University of Mississippi, where I earned my B.A. in Journalism and enrolled in the Master of Arts in Journalism program. During my six years at Ole Miss, my love for broadcast journalism grew more and more.
I spent 2021-2023 as a reporter for the university's student-run news channel NewsWatch Ole Miss.
During the 2022-2023 school year, my final year of graduate school, I served as News Director/Station Manager at NewsWatch Ole Miss, where I fulfilled various leadership duties from payroll, scheduling, hiring and training new talent, and ensuring everything is needed to put a 30-minute show together that day.
After competing with hundreds of qualified applicants, I was one of three individuals chosen for a summer internship with WKRN TV in Nashville, Tennessee in the summer of 2022. During my time there, I had the opportunity to shadow alongside numerous reporters, work alongside producers, gain experience in shooting look-lives and stand-ups, and get a true feel of the fast-pace day in the life of working at a large market news station.
